Stalkers and perverts unfortunately still exist in society, but how would you feel if you were to catch one lurking from the shadows not far away from your home?
This was the terrifying incident that a woman in Sabah had to come face-to-face with when she caught a man on camera finding cover within the bushes while trying to steal her underwear.
M’sian woman catches man hiding within the bushes near her home
In a series of TikTok videos shared by @elegantcosmetics.shania, she showed how terrifyingly close she was to an unknown man whom she caught hiding among the bushes.
In the clips, the man, whom the woman believes to be a foreigner, is seen peeking through the gaps from within the bushes as he inched closer to the gate which led directly to her home.
According to the woman, she had just finished hanging her clothes at the back of her home when she noticed someone moving within the bushes, causing her to go back into the house and begin filming from the upper floor.
Her worst fears were then confirmed when the man appeared on the camera, leading her to deduce that he had been watching her the entire time and wanted to steal her underwear.
Needless to say, the woman was shaken by the incident, adding that she was “deeply afraid” at the time and that only she and her sister were at home. She also said that no longer had the courage to hang her clothes outside anymore.
Fled when police arrived
The woman first tried contacting the nearest police station but it went unanswered, leading her to dial the 999 emergency hotline.
Before the police made their appearance, they instructed the woman not to make any noise so that they could capture the man.
Unfortunately, the man seemed to have known that the police were coming for him and fled when police finally appeared at the scene.
‘So dangerous!’
The clips have since garnered widespread attention, with netizens shocked by how brazen the man was and how close he was from the woman’s residence.
One commented on his ‘”blending in” with the bushes: ‘My gosh I thought it was a cobra.’
Another wrote: ‘Why didn’t the police give chase to the man and arrest him?’
Another gave some suggestions on how the woman could protect herself from stalkers in the future, such as increasing the height of the gate and adding spikes to it, installing CCTVs and alarms around the gate, as well as trim the bushes near the gate.
To all the women, do be aware of your surroundings and if you find a suspicious person lurking nearby, call the police immediately!
