M’sian woman beaten and thrown off bridge

According to Kuala Langat police chief Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh, police received information about someone shouting for help from under the bridge at 3.25am.

He added the victim, a 52-year-old local female who worked as a cleaner at a bank, was eventually rescued by the public and admitted to the Banting Hospital for medical treatment.

Preliminary investigations found that the victim had confronted a group of men for making too much noise and regularly consuming drugs and alcohol at a rented house they occupied together with her.

“They then used a cane to beat her and slashed her with a sharp object before throwing her off the bridge from a height of about 50m,” he said.

3 suspects test positive for drugs

Ahmad Ridhwan said police later arrested five men all aged in their 30s on the same day of the incident between 1pm to 6pm.

He also said all of them had prior criminal records for drug abuse and that three of the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis.

They have since been remanded for four days to aid investigations under Section 364 and 326 of the Penal Code for causing severe injuries.
