A 23-year-old woman was left shocked after she was allegedly secretly filmed while using the toilet at a fried chicken outlet in Selangor.
What made the incident even more disturbing was that the suspect was later found to be an employee of the restaurant.
Heard someone whistling while using toilet
According to China Press, the victim said the incident happened at around 9.50pm last night at a fried chicken outlet in Selangor.
She said she was using the toilet when she suddenly heard someone whistling.
At first, she did not think much of it. However, when she heard the whistling sound again, she noticed a mobile phone near the gap of the exhaust fan.
Suspect allegedly fled after being discovered
Upon realising that he had been spotted, the suspect allegedly took the phone and fled the scene.
Isha then immediately informed the person in charge at the outlet before lodging a police report over the incident.
Following the report, police reviewed CCTV footage from the premises and later found that the suspect was allegedly an employee of the fried chicken outlet.
More than 20 videos on the suspect’s phone
Police also reportedly found more than 20 secretly recorded videos in the suspect’s mobile phone.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Shamsudin confirmed the case and said police had received a report from the female victim.
He added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for intentionally insulting the modesty of a person.
The case has since raised serious concerns over customer safety and privacy, especially in public restrooms.
