# M’sian Wedding Goes Viral For Serving Ayam Gepuk & Guests Can’t Get Enough Of It

##### When we think of wedding feasts, dishes like nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, and daging masak hitam often come to mind.

However, a recent wedding in Tanjung Malim, Perak, broke the mold by serving *ayam gepuk* instead.

## Ayam gepuk served at wedding feast

Traditionally, wedding menus feature classic Malay dishes accompanied by light snacks or desserts. In this case, the hosts opted for *ayam gepuk*, a dish comprising fried chicken, *tempeh*, tofu, cabbage, cucumber, and a signature spicy *sambal*.

A video shared on TikTok by [@ayamgepukartis](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS6KLGW1G/)[a](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS6KLGW1G/)[n](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS6KLGW1G/) showcased attendees eagerly serving themselves generous portions of the meal.

The feast didn't stop at offering this unique dish as guests were also treated to unlimited refills, allowing them to enjoy as much *ayam gepuk* as they desired.

The event organizers later addressed questions about the cost, revealing that each *ayam gepuk* set was priced from as low as RM7.99 per person.

This budget-friendly option not only made it accessible for large gatherings but also proved that a satisfying and flavorful wedding feast doesn’t have to break the bank.

Moreover, the affordability didn’t come at the expense of quality. Guests were served freshly prepared meals, ensuring every bite was packed with bold flavors and the right level of spiciness.

## Netizens in awe

Netizens were quick to praise the host's choice in the comment section, with some even expressing their desire to include *ayam gepuk* in their own wedding celebrations.
