Yesterday, we reported about a violin teacher who was slammed by netizens after it was revealed that he kept a collection of Instagram Story Highlights which showed him berating students and calling them ‘s*hai’.
Not long after the scandal broke, the said teacher has since offered a public apology over the matter and shared about its aftermath in a lengthy Facebook post.
Apologises for unprofessional behavior
In the post, the teacher expressed regret for his actions and said the Instagram stories were meant to be “stupid, unthoughtful gossip” between him and several close friends.
Unbeknownst to him, he claimed a few of those “close friends” leaked it online, thus leading to the uproar.
At the moment that I posted these stories, I admit that I didn’t think twice before I act. I deeply regret doing this, I promise I will not do it again because this is very unprofessional behaviour of mine.
The teacher also said he was aware of his responsibility to educate students and make them better but admitted that he still gets frustrated when students do not spend time practicing.
Filed lawsuit against woman who exposed him
The teacher then went on to reveal that he has been subjected to countless harassing calls and messages and that his home address has been revealed online, prompting him to file a police report.
Bizarrely, he also wrote that he had filed a lawsuit against the woman who first brought the issue to light, saying that it “affected my human rights” and even tagged her in the post.
Towards the end of the post, the teacher said he understood why he was being labelled as “stupid” and “unethical” and begged for forgiveness for his actions.
Netizens call apology insincere
Rather than earning the forgiveness of netizens as he’d hoped, the teacher instead caused most of them to rile up, particularly concerning the lawsuit.
Many found his apology to be insincere and slammed him for filing a lawsuit against the woman who exposed his wrongdoings.
