# M’sian Traffic Police Officers Go Beyond Their Duty By Clearing Clogged Drains While Barefoot

##### It’s often said that true dedication is measured by the willingness to go beyond one’s official duties.

This sentiment was recently brought to life by a pair of Kuala Lumpur traffic police officers who took matters into their own hands, tackling a problem that wasn't part of their job description.

Their actions show that real commitment means going beyond what's expected.

## M'sian traffic police officers clear clogged drains while barefoot

A viral TikTok video by [@erywahab](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSYou2UkP/) recently showcased this remarkable effort, featuring Ery, a traffic officer, and a colleague who ventured into dirty water barefoot to address clogged drains around Kuala Lumpur.

Using wooden sticks, they diligently removed trash and debris, ensuring that the drains were cleared to prevent further road obstruction.

In the caption, Ery emphasised that their actions were not intended to assign blame but to illustrate the proactive approach taken by traffic officers.

He explained that they spend significant time on the roads, dealing with various challenges that could lead to accidents.

By addressing the drain clogs themselves, they aimed to maintain smooth traffic flow and enhance public safety.

## 'Thank you for making it easier for others'

The video has been met with widespread praise from the public, with many applauding the officers for their extraordinary efforts.

Comments highlighted their willingness to assist despite it not being part of their regular duties.
