No one ever wants to end up lying on the hospital bed due to an injury or illness as it disrupts their work and daily routine.
A man recently claimed that he was told to leave his job for good after HR found out that he had undergone surgery for a slipped disc during his probation period, leaving him feeling helpless and lost.
Went for surgery
According to mStar, the man shared on X that he had gone for surgery last month for a slipped disc while he was still on probation.

While he recuperated at the hospital, the man requested to work from home (WFH) as he was worried about his employment status, which had yet to be confirmed by the company.
Told to leave
To his shock, the man found anything but a warm welcome from the company when he got discharged from the hospital.
On the week I was supposed to go back to the office, I was told by HR to resign.
“I’m a Human Resources bachelor’s degree graduate. While I can file a report, finding a new job is difficult and I’m sad,” he lamented.

Netizens were largely sympathetic to the man’s plight and urged him to seek an official explanation from the company.
They also encouraged him to understand employee rights, especially regarding health issues during a probation period.
Others advised him to file a report with the Labour Department (JTK), while some said the best option was to let the company not convert him into a permanent staff instead of resigning.
