Whenever one sees a police officer, the first reaction would be to turn and flee the opposite direction, especially if laws have been broken.
Surprisingly, this wasn’t what one teen did after he was caught red-handed by a police officer for not wearing a helmet and simply followed his instructions and accepted the consequences.
M’sian teen caught not wearing a helmet
The unusual but humourous incident was captured in a 28-second video which was uploaded to the Royal Malaysian Police’s (PDRM) Facebook page yesterday, where it has garnered more than 300,000 views.
At the start of the clip, it showed the teen waiting at a traffic light without wearing helmet and sipping on a takeaway drink he had bought.
Out of nowhere, a police car emerged from the opposite direction and headed towards the teen, who seemed to sense that something was up at the sound of the siren.

Instead of fleeing the scene, the teen calmly faced an officer who got out of the patrol car and got off from his motorbike.
Perhaps realising that he was going to be fined for not wearing a helmet, the teen quietly listened to the police officer’s instructions and proceeded to push his motorbike to the side of the road.
Praised for owning up
In the comment section, netizens were impressed by the teen’s willingness to surrender to police for his traffic offense and praised him for it.
‘Respect for this young brother.’
‘Good job. Just stay calm. Running away would only be more dangerous.’
