A teacher has recently earned praise from netizens for his efforts to include all students of a special needs school in understanding the lyrics of the patriotic song ‘Jalur Gemilang’.

This was captured in a TikTok video shared by @namakulin22, where it has garnered more than 29,000 views at the time of writing.

In the 1-minute clip, the teacher, who was dressed in a Baju Melayu and headgear, is seen dancing enthusiatically to ‘Jalur Gemilang’ onstage during a Merdeka celebration.

While doing so, he used sign language to interpret the lyrics for the hearing impaired students who may difficulty understand the meaning of the song.

Netizens praise teacher for his efforts

In the comment section, netizens had nothing but praise for the teacher who went all out to ensure that none of his students felt left out and for making effort to have them learn the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ song through sign language.
