He hasn’t graduated yet, but one Malaysian student is already turning his practical skills into an income.
By installing, cleaning and repairing air conditioners around the Klang Valley, the young man now earns up to RM3,000 in net income a month.
For him, the work is a way to earn his own money while pursuing his studies, without relying entirely on his study loan allowance.
Putting his studies to work

According to Harian Metro, Aizad Haikal Marzukee, 24, is a fourth-semester mechanical engineering technology student specialising in industrial refrigeration and air conditioning at UniKL Malaysia France Institute.
He started offering services in May, but earnings were initially inconsistent.
Had RM10 left but didn’t want to ask his parents

At one point, Aizad had just RM10. Reluctant to ask his parents for money midway through the month, he told his mother he had work the next day despite having no bookings.
That night, he promoted his services online. The post unexpectedly attracted customers, eventually leading him to enlist fellow students’ help.
Weekdays for studies, weekends for customers
He attends classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, with online lessons on Fridays. Wednesdays are for revision and assignments, while weekends are for work.
He travels to customers in a Proton Wira his parents gave him. Basic servicing starts at RM90.
Not his first side hustle
Previously, Aizad sold cosmetics through dropshipping and drinks by the roadside.
His father encouraged self-employment, and his family supports his efforts as long as his studies remain a priority.
He now hopes to expand his services while gaining experience and applying his classroom knowledge.
