Nowadays, food prices have been soaring at unprecedented rates and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon, making it hard to ordinary Malaysians to find a meal that’s within their budget.
In the midst of such woeful economic times however, there are a few stalls that still offer food at an unbelievably low price, such as this chicken rice stall in Setapak.
RM3.95 chicken rice sold at Setapak
In a Facebook post shared to a group named Setapak 文良港分享交流区 by a netizen named Jun Meng Low yesterday (Mar 25), he shared a photo of a plate of chicken rice he ordered from a stall in Setapak.

According to the caption, he only had to pay an astonishing RM3.95 for the chicken rice, something that he couldn’t believe his eyes and was deeply grateful for.
“This kind of stall owner must be protected at all cost so that they don’t go extinct. May the owner have good health and a lifetime of peace,” he wrote.
Low also mentioned in the comment section that if it weren’t for the RM3.95 chicken rice, he would have to starve until his paycheck arrived.

‘My way of giving back to society’
Sin Chew Daily later paid the stall a visit and discovered that the owner has been selling the chicken rice for RM3.95 since 2018.
When asked why he chose to sell it at such a low price, he said that it was his way of giving back to society by offering various foods at low prices, including mixed rice, stir-fried dishes, snacks, and beverages.
Praised by netizens
The stall owner’s act has since attracted much praise from netizens, who were touched by his efforts to help those struggling financially.
‘An owner with a kind heart. May he have peace throughout his lifetime.’

‘The best stall owner ever.’
