We all don’t like it when we have to go through ridiculous wait times just to have our order made, but what are the odds that it might land you in trouble with the religious authorities?
This was what happened to a couple who had officers from the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) turn up at their hotel after they were reported by an unhappy stall owner.
Waited 1 hour for food to arrive
According to the husband’s video uploaded on TikTok, he claimed it all began with them patronising a stall managed by an elderly lady.
“We had a meal at the lady’s stall, and then she kept us waiting for an hour without serving the food.
“Since we hadn’t eaten anything since noon, we decided to leave and left the money on the table before heading to a Mamak next door,” he said.
Claimed they were followed
The couple’s act deeply offended the stall owner, who went looking for them at the mamak shop to confront them.
“She even took pictures and recorded us while saying ‘thank you’ sarcastically,” said the husband.
Unfortunately, things didn’t end there as the stall owner allegedly sent her own husband to follow the couple all the way to their hotel.
At around 4 am, the couple were aroused from their sleep by JAIS officers whom they believe were instigated by the stall owner.

Netizens call for stall owner’s identity
The videos have since gone viral and garnered millions of views at the time of writing.
Netizens were outraged by the stall owner’s pettiness and urged the couple to reveal the details and location of her stall.
One comforted the wife by jokingly saying it was the “best experience” for a newlywed couple like them to be visited by JAIS officers under such circumstances.
