No one likes it when they’re trying to enjoy a meal or simply have some quiet time alone at a café, only to have it ruined by unruly and screaming children.
A TikToker recently posted a video of a pair of parents who deliberately allowed their child to scream his lungs off despite getting annoyed looks from other customers.
M’sian slams parents who left their child screaming for 1 hour
In a 29-second clip uploaded by @papayen91 yesterday (June 21), it showed a group of customers having their drinks and spending time at a Coffee Bean outlet.
However, the entire atmosphere was ruined by a table located several feet away from the OP, where a child could be heard screaming in a high-pitched tone in the background.
In the video caption, he wrote that the child had screamed for one hour straight and this caused several customers to leave as they were unable to tolerate the noise any longer.
He also said that even when some customers recorded the child making a scene and stared at parents, they pretended that everything was fine and continued chatting away.
If you want to chat, please do it on Google Meet, Zoom, or at home and don’t bother our ears. All of us don’t wish to hear your child’s high-pitched screams!
“Though I never said that I wanted to eat or chat at a super quiet place like a hospital or library, but please…your child doesn’t know (what he’s doing). So you as his parents should tell him,” wrote the exasperated OP.

‘So inconsiderate!’
The clip has since garnered more than 800,000 views at the time of writing, where netizens were also annoyed by the parents’ selfishness.
One wrote that she is often triggered whenever one screams in a high-pitched tone as it would cause her to suffer from migraines.
Another lamented that most parents nowadays aren’t willing to listen to advice and would often retort with “This is how children are” or “You don’t understand because you don’t have kids” whenever others tell them to keep their children quiet.
Another shared that he formerly worked in the F&B industry and said such situations were commonplace, adding that most parents worked as professionals but had zero civic sense.
