While the fireworks display brought joy and excitement, it seems like the enthusiasm didn’t extend to cleaning up.

The netizen’s post, which included photos of the littered streets, had the caption: ‘Excited to launch fireworks on the eighth night, yet the following day, the ground is littered with debris. Setting off without cleaning up reflects poorly on one’s actions, character, and intelligence.’

The streets were seen left covered in debris from the fireworks, with remnants and boxes cluttering the sidewalks and roads, much to the dismay of our vigilant netizen.

Accompanied by photos showcasing the litter-strewn aftermath, the post quickly ignited a flurry of discussions among netizens.

Many agreed that this behavior reflects a longstanding bad habit among Malaysians, taking it for granted.

“Everyone thinks that throwing firecrackers during Chinese New Year is a tradition, but isn’t it common sense that you should clean up the trash you’ve made? Parents are also responsible for not teaching their children properly. If everyone just does a bit on their part, won’t our country be cleaner?”

“Every year it’s the same situation after the festival ends, my residential area is also like this, everyone thinks someone else will clean it up.”
