If you’re a restauranteur or hawker, you’d know how much time, energy, and money is used to prepare the ingredients and condiments before it is served to customers.
Unfortunately, there are customers who are simply too selfish and inconsiderate and would waste food without taking into consideration the hard work put into making it.
M’sian slams customer who wasted 3 servings of chili
In a photo shared by a hawker in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on Facebook on Tuesday (Mar 5), it showed three small plates brimming with green chilis and soy sauce.

Based on the photo, the customer got a bit greedy and took too much green chili, where he only partially ate one portion and discarded the rest.
Needless to say, the sight of the wasted green chili left the OP deeply heartbroken as he had put in a lot of time preparing the condiment.
It’s really frustrating to encounter such customers. It’s just too much! It’s not about being unable to accept it, but it’s because I personally seasoned the chili.

“If you want the spicy flavor, wouldn’t it be better to just take some of the sauce? Why take so much and not eat it? It’s such a waste and it breaks my heart because making this pickled chili takes a lot of time,” he lamented.
Netizens outraged
In the comment section, netizens were equally as shocked to see the amount of wasted green chili and condemned the customer for being selfish.
‘This is truly a waste.’

‘These people’s attitude is ‘Oh, I’ve already paid for it so I can do whatever I want!’ and are so afraid of others earning more from them.’

One suggested that the OP charge customers a fee whenever they wanted an additional serving of chili.

Another shared a photo of how a customer wasted precious resources, except that it wasn’t green chilis but tissue paper. Trying to make roti tissue perhaps?

So the next time you’re about to discard that extra plate of condiments or food, please spare a thought for the hawkers who worked so hard to prepare it!
