Asian moms and their Tupperware – an inseparable duo. Recently, a Malaysian family took on a seemingly impossible mission that left many netizens utterly astonished.
A TikTok user shared a glimpse of how the whole fam teamed up to clean their parents’ place while they were out.
What really caught everyone’s attention was the audacious decision to discard their mother’s cherished collection of Tupperware.
Bye-bye Tupperware
Through her TikTok account, @aainaa.nordin, she shared the daring attempt and said that they wanted to give the entire house a glow up while their parents traveled for Umrah.
“POV: Parents go for Umrah, while children and in-laws embark on a declutter and makeover project.” she captioned the video.
In the 44-second video, Aainaa skillfully takes us on a tour of her mother’s kitchen cupboard, where an eclectic collection of cherished Tupperware is playfully jumbled.
Revamp begins with Tupperware clearance
Upon meticulously choosing the usable Tupperware, they arrange them back into the cupboard, ensuring a tidy and organized storage space.
Meanwhile, the Tupperware that’s no longer considered okay is quickly gathered and tossed into a big black plastic bag.
Beyond just tackling the Tupperware, the family enthusiastically takes on the task of cleaning up and reorganizing various aspects of the household, including the kitchen items and clothes.
To add a refreshing touch, they decide to uplift the entire atmosphere by applying a fresh coat of paint throughout the house.
The teamwork vibes were strong, making the whole decluttering gig a breeze. It’s pretty cool how everyone chipped in to give the place a makeover – team effort at its finest.
Curious about the mother’s reaction, one of the netizens has asked Aainaa to upload it. In response, she gave the green light, mentioning that the video will be up soon.
The house packed with unused items
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Aainaa told us that the revamp project kicked off when her parents’ house became cramped with unused items.
After learning about their parents’ plans to go for Umrah in November, she discussed with her siblings and proposed initiating a cleanup mission during their absence.
“We also ask for their permission, and they are actually aware of the cleaning mission.” she told.
Aainaa shared that the entire house was tidied up in just three days, starting on November 5th and continuing on the 12th-13th.
With limited time on weekends, the cleanup effort was a collaborative venture involving Aainaa, who resides in Kajang, her sister in Melaka, and two other siblings conveniently living nearby their parents’ house.
However, before beginning the cleaning project, the family got the green light beforehand from their parents and knew exactly what stuff to keep and what to toss.
She happily shared that her parents returned from Umrah on November 15th.
“As soon as they come back, they are happy, as the house is a bit different and has a fresh look. Surprisingly, a few things have been rearranged.” she continued.
This video has garnered over 3.1 million views as of the time of writing, along with thousands of comments from netizens sharing their personal experiences.
Also, as promised, she posted a video capturing her parents’ reaction a few days later.
We can witness how happy and appreciative her parents were upon seeing the return gift prepared by their kids.
Some netizens have even praised the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the mission to revamp their parents’ house.
