A horrifying aerial accident involving a light aircraft occurred yesterday (Aug 17) at Elmina, Shah Alam, where viral videos shared online showed it descending from the sky before crashing into ground and bursting into flames.
A total of 10 people were killed, including Pahang executive councillor Johari Harun and seasoned pilot Shahrul Kamal Roslan, who left behind a phrase that will stay with his mother forever.
‘I love you, Mum’
The news of Shahrul Kamal’s passing proved too much to bear for his mother Mahanom Ismail, who struggled to hold her emotions when met by reporters outside the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) Forensic Department.
She said that Shahrul Kamal last spoke to her on July 24 when she was admitted to the Tuanku Mizan Military hospital for a surgery, reported Harian Metro.
A day before undergoing intestinal and gallbladder surgery, he called to ask how I was. Before ending the call, he told that he loved me very much.
“He was very close to me and I will miss everything about him and hear his voice call out to me,” she said as she fought back tears.
Mahanom added Sharul Kamal had previously worked for Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Etihad Airways before becoming a private jet pilot.
He leaves behind a wife along with four sons aged between three and 12.
