A mother and her two daughters, aged 12 and 14, were found dead inside their home in Ipoh after a concerned neighbour noticed that something appeared unusual.
The incident was discovered at around 8pm on Thursday (July 30) at a semi-detached house in Tambun.
Noticed family had not left the house
According to Guang Ming Daily, the neighbour became concerned after noticing that the mother and her daughters had remained inside the house throughout the afternoon.
The air conditioner inside the home had also reportedly been running for an unusually long period.
Sensing that something was wrong, the neighbour contacted the woman’s husband, who was working in Kuala Lumpur at the time.
The husband then contacted his wife’s elder sister, who lived in Ipoh, and asked her to check on the family.
Woman’s sister entered through unlocked back door
Upon reaching the house, the woman’s sister entered through the back door, which was reportedly unlocked.
She then found her sister and the two girls unresponsive inside a bedroom.
According to Sin Chew Daily, she immediately sought assistance from members of the Bercham Volunteer Security Team, who subsequently contacted the police, Fire and Rescue Department, and medical personnel.
Medical personnel arrived at the house at around 8pm and pronounced the mother and her two daughters dead.
Bodies sent for post-mortem
Police cordoned off the house and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The three bodies were later taken to the hospital for post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death.
At the time of writing, it remains unclear whether the case involved any criminal element.
The exact time of death and the events leading up to the discovery also remain under investigation.
Authorities are expected to release further details after investigations and the post-mortem examinations have been completed.
