In the quiet sadness of her home, Aslina Abu, 48, feels too much pain to celebrate Eid anymore.
She lost two of her sons, both 19 years old, in road accidents before Eid.
Her latest loss was Muhammad Amin Fakhrullah Mohd Faiez, who died early in the morning after his motorcycle hit a car on Jalan Tanjung Minyak, Bukit Rambai.
Two years earlier, on the night before Eid in 2022, her fifth son, Muhammad Nasulullah, also died in a similar accident near Pantai Puteri.
A video showed Aslina unable to control her grief when uncovering the body of her son, which made many people feel her pain.
According to MalaysiaGazette, Aslina says it feels like both her sons had promised to be together in life and death, which makes Eid a traumatic time for her.
“People tell me to be patient, but only God knows how much this hurts,” she shared from her home in Tanjung Kling.
Aslina wants the authorities to take action against the drivers involved in the accidents. She’s not seeking revenge but justice for her sons. “I’m not against God’s will, but I want some fairness for what happened to my sons,” she said.
