The EPF is crucial for retirement, ensuring financial security for many. However, a Malaysian man’s EPF account, built up over years of hard work, vanished after he transferred his entire fund to his new girlfriend, who subsequently disappeared.

Man remained singles for years
According to a Facebook post by Hasnan Rili, the man, who had remained single for years after his divorce, met a new partner.
Convinced by her, he withdrew his entire EPF savings and transferred the money to her as per her request.
Although the exact sum remains undisclosed, the loss was substantial enough to leave him penniless after decades of labor.

‘Doesn’t even have a cent left’
The man’s financial situation deteriorated drastically following the transfer.
After the money was transferred, the woman disappeared with his money. He couldn’t reach the woman, and he doesn’t even have a cent left,” Hasnan shared.

Now suffering from severe depression, the man requires monthly psychiatric consultations to manage his emotional and mental health.
