A woman was killed in Kulim, Malaysia, after being hit by her husband’s car while he was reversing it in Taman Selasih on Friday.
According to Astro Awani, Kulim District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Redzuan Salleh, said it was raining heavily during the incident, and the 60-year-old husband did not realize his wife was behind the car.
He stated that the police received a report at 7 pm and dispatched a team to the scene, where they found the victim already deceased.

Heavy rain limits visibility
“The victim’s husband was reversing a Proton Saga at the time, and due to heavy rain and limited visibility, he did not see the victim behind the vehicle. He stopped the car after hitting a parked Perodua Myvi in front of a house,” he said in an interview with Astro Awani.
According to Mohd Redzuan, initial police investigations found that the accident occurred when the victim left the car to retrieve an item from the house.
He said that the victim’s husband, who was reversing the car at the time, accidentally stepped on the accelerator, hitting his wife on the left side before crashing into a parked car.
The victim, who suffered internal injuries, was confirmed dead at the scene.
The 59-year-old victim’s body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Kulim Hospital for an autopsy.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
