When someone close to us passes away, we would find every opportunity to be close to them and reminisce on the memories shared with them.
A photo of a young man lying beside his mother’s grave after she lost her life to a road accident has gone viral on social media and touched many hearts as well.
M’sian man sleeps besides mum’s grave daily
In the photo shared by Su Ahmad last Sunday (Nov 24), it showed the young man dressed in his food delivery uniform sleeping beside a grave at a cemetery.
According to Su, she would see the man turn up at the same spot every day without fail over a period of several months.
Usually, whenever I come here, be it in the morning or evening, he would always visit his mother’s grave. He would even bring a packet of tea and sit there for a long time.
“The photo was taken when I last saw him at around 6.30pm, 30 minutes before the cemetery’s gates were about to close.”
Su added that she initially wanted to wake the man up but was stopped by her children, who said that most likely he was tired and wanted to rest.
Lost mum to road accident
In the caption, Su revealed that based on her family’s conversation with the man, they learnt that his mother was a nasi lemak seller in Bangi.
Tragically, she died in a road accident slightly more than a month after Su’s husband was buried and this prompted him to visit her grave every day.
“My daughters got to know of the man’s story when they visited their father’s grave daily,” she added.
Netizens heartbroken
The photo has since been shared 1,000 times and netizens expressed sympathy for the young man in the comment section.
‘It’s so pitiful to see him sleep like this.’
‘This is so sad. I also once felt like lying beside my husband’s grave too.’
Many also gave the young man their best wishes and prayed that he would be able to move on from his mother’s passing.
