If you have a sibling, you’d know for a fact that you’d do anything for your brother/sister whenever they’re in need and vice versa.
This was what one young man did for his younger brother by travelling hundreds of kilometres just to accompany the latter in registering for university.

In a Facebook post shared by Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), it wrote that 27-year-old Ee Tai Qing, a fruit vendor, rode for a total of 613km from Sungai Udang, Melaka, to UUM’s campus in Sintok, Kedah since last Sunday (Sept 29).
The reason? It was to accompany his younger brother Ee Tai Zhi, who had taken a bus from Melaka to the university to register as a new student in UUM’s Bachelor of Hospitality Management programme.
Tai Qing’s act of going the second mile for his brother caught the attention of UUM’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan, and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Martadha Mohamed.
According to the post’s caption, Tai Zhi said he didn’t expect to be accepted into the programme he was interested in and vowed to do his best in his studies.
“I want to gain new experiences at Lembuh Sintok and I promise to give my full attention and absorb all the knowledge taught by experienced lecturers,” he said.
As per a report by Sinar Harian, Tai Zhi is among the 4,195 students who registered at UUM, which include both local and international students enrolling in 48 Bachelor’s degree programs for the 2024/2025 session.
