In a marriage, the husband and wife are expected to share the burdens of building a home and family for themselves.
For one man however, his wife’s rather low salary is causing him to doubt the stability of the relationship and he now wonders whether it’s better to terminate the marriage.
Incompatible in terms of earnings?
In a Threads post, the man wrote that he and his wife had been married for five years and described his wife as a faithful companion who is a “green flag” in many ways.
Despite her positive qualities, the one thing that bothered him deeply was how little she earned each month.

“This year, my salary increased by more than RM5,000. Meanwhile, my wife’s income has stayed the same from the beginning of our marriage until now, which is RM1,800. Also, she hasn’t made any effort to earn extra income such as taking up sewing or other side jobs.
“Should I continue this marriage or should I leave her and find someone who is more compatible with me financially and earns as much as I do?” he questioned.
At the end of the post, the man admitted that he found the idea of divorcing his wife to be extremely difficult as he felt he wouldn’t be able to find another wife like her.

Outrage
In the comment section, there was little to no support from netizens for the man, and they promptly roasted him for his materialistic outlook regarding his marriage.
‘She’s truly a green flag. You, on the other hand, are the red flag.’

‘Don’t find a wife. Go find a bank instead cause it has lots of money. Do you understand?’

‘Even after getting a good wife, you’re still ungrateful. Once your salary increased, you start look for someone that’s on your level. A person’s worth is not measured by the numbers on their paycheck, but by how they appreciate the one who has always been by their side.’
