If you’re an animal lover, you’d do anything to have your pet to be as close to you as possible. However, sometimes limited space can be an obstacle to that.
A man recently shocked netizens after he posted a video of him frying a crocodile egg and having it as his meal in a TikTok video which has garnered much attention.
M’sian man fries crocodile egg and eats it
In a TikTok video posted by a user named Khairul Johari on TikTok, he showed his wife preparing to fry what seemed to be an egg. However, it didn’t come from a chicken but a crocodile instead.
As seen from the clip, the egg white and yolk was slightly bigger than that of a chicken egg, and its complexion had a glossier texture to it.
After the egg was cooked, Khairul proceeded to devour it and described to viewers how its tasted.
“The yolk is delicious, and the egg white has a slightly different taste,” he said, adding that crocodile eggs have a chewier and fattier texture.
Explained why he cooked the crocodile egg
Naturally, Khairul’s action was bound to cause a stir among netizens, who were shocked by his odd choice of protein.
One jokingly wrote: ‘Won’t the crocodile come after him for eating its baby?’
Another asked why didn’t Khairul donate the egg to the zoo, to which he replied by saying that even zoos themselves had too many on hand.
In response to the comments, Khairul posted a separate video explaining why he chose to eat the crocodile egg.
According to him, he said that he had no choice but to fry the egg as his home no longer had space for more crocodile hatchlings.
My place is not a zoo. I raise animals as a hobby, and I have many other animals besides crocodiles. The space in my house is quite small. It’s not that I intentionally didn’t want the crocodile eggs to hatch, but it’s because I don’t have the space.
“I waited for the crocodile to lay eggs for a long time, but after discussing it with my wife, we realized that we didn’t have enough space for additional animals. So we decided to eat the crocodile eggs,” he said.
Khairul also added that he owns over 1,000 animal species that he personally cares for and breeds at home, including exotic animals.
