A shocking case of animal cruelty has recently surfaced online, sparking widespread outrage among netizens.
This comes after clips showing a man being caught dragging a puppy behind his motorcycle in Sungai Petani, Kedah, went viral online, leaving the canine badly injured.

In one of the clips circulating online, it showed a bystander angrily confronting the man, who was seen dragging the puppy behind his motorcycle using a metal leash.

Another clip showed another bystander checking on the dog’s condition, whose legs were left bloodied and torn open caused by the dragging.
As the bystander who first confronted the man continued to yell at him for subjecting the puppy to such cruelty, the latter retorted by calling him ‘jahat’ (evil in Malay).
In response, the bystander shouted, “You’re the evil person here!”

According to Sin Chew Daily, the man later admitted the 4-month-old puppy belonged to him and that he didn’t want to keep it anymore.
Puppy treated for its wounds
The puppy was later taken to a clinic to be treated for its injuries and it’s reported that it would take at least a week for it to fully recover.

Netizens have since called for the authorities to take action against the man for abusing the puppy and torturing it.
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2015, those found guilty of animal abuse face an imprisonment term of up to two years, a maximum fine of RM100,000 or both.
