While it’s undeniable that having your path blocked by an object is annoying, it doesn’t constitutive as a reason to assault someone, especially if that someone is your own mother.
A man in Ampang totally lost his cool and proceeded to assault his mother after she unintentionally blocked his path with a shoe rack, resulting in injuries and broken teeth.

According to Harian Metro, the incident took place at a house located along Jalan Bunga Melor at Taman Muda Cheras on Tuesday (Feb 20).
Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said the 74-year-old victim sustained head injuries and two broken front teeth after she was beaten by her son with a steering lock.
According to preliminary investigations, the motive behind the assault was because the victim placed a shoe rack which blocked the suspect’s path.
“At 12.30am, she was hit with a steering lock by the suspect while she was sleeping.
“Another child of the victim tried to intervene but got punched by the suspect as well,” he said.
Tested negative for drugs
Mohd Azam said the 38-year-old suspect, who was unemployed, tested negative for drugs and alcohol and was confirmed not to be suffering from mental disturbances.
He added that the suspect and victim’s relationship had been strained for the past 10 years.
“The suspect has been remanded for seven days starting Wednesday (Feb 21) to assist in investigations under Section 326 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing grievous hurt with a weapon or dangerous object.
“If found guilty, he is liable to an imprisonment of up to 20 years, fine, or caning,” he said.
