A man’s attempt to escape after plunging a knife into his housemate several times went awry after he was left with a broken hip while jumping out of a window from the 5th floor of a building.
According to The Star, the incident took place at a building located in Petaling Jaya on Wednesday (Jul 17).

According to a statement by Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaa’far, he said police were alerted of the incident at around 5.45am by members of the public.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a man bleeding on the fifth floor of a building in a housing area in Sungai Way.
“Medical officers from the Sungai Buloh Hospital then came to the scene and gave the victim medical treatment, who suffered 11 stab wounds.
“As for the suspect, he broke his hip and injured his right rib while trying to escape by jumping out the kitchen window on the fifth floor,” he said.
Both believed to be intoxicated
Shahrulnizam added that both the victim and suspect were sent to the hospital for treatment. A knife believed to have been used to stab the victim was also seized by police.

Additional checks also revealed that the suspect had no prior police records. As for the motive which sparked the attack, police believe it was due to an argument while both parties were under the influence of alcohol.
