In a heartbreaking event in Kampung Jawa, a woman was found dead, believed to have been beaten by her own son, who was found to be under the influence of drugs.
Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, broke the news to the public, revealing that the call came through at 9.45 AM.
Early investigations revealed that the victim was a 56-year-old housewife who resided with her husband and their 33-year-old son, the latter being the suspect in this grim case.
The altercation between the mother and son escalated when the suspect reportedly attacked her with safety boots and an iron rod before fleeing the scene.
Based on the information received, the suspect, who works as a barber, was apprehended at 11:30 AM at his workplace in Taman Sentosa Klang.
A subsequent urine test confirmed the presence of Methamphetamine in his system.
Further checks on the suspect’s background revealed two previous drug-related offences and one criminal record, adding to the gravity of the current situation.
Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim stated that investigations are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and the suspect is scheduled to be brought to court tomorrow for a remand hearing.
NST reported that if the suspect is proven guilty, he will face the penalty of death or imprisonment for a term not less than 30 years but not exceeding 40 years, plus caning of not less than 12 strokes.
