M’sian Man Attacks Older Brother With Machete Over Motorcycle Dispute

The police managed to arrest the suspect at the scene.
In a shocking incident on Wednesday night (June 5), a Malaysian man attacked his older brother with a machete over a motorcycle dispute in Kampung Nelayan Kuala Linggi, Kuala Sungai Baru.

The attack, which occurred around 8.47pm, left the 33-year-old victim with severe injuries, including a severed tendon in his left hand.

Reported by Sinar Harian, the Alor Gajah District Police Chief, Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah, stated that the victim had initially reported to the Kuala Sungai Baru Police Station that his 27-year-old brother had assaulted him with a wooden stick.

Following the report, the victim returned home with Crime Prevention officers and members of the Malaysian Volunteer Corps (RELA) to apprehend the suspect.

Upon entering the house, the victim was attacked by the suspect with a 1.5-foot-long machete.

“The suspect swung the machete at the victim, causing injuries to his left hand,” Superintendent Ashari said.

However, the police managed to arrest the suspect at the scene.

The victim was taken to Alor Gajah Hospital for treatment and later referred to Melaka Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

He suffered severed tendons in three fingers of his left hand, making them unable to move.

Despite the serious injuries, the victim is reported to be in stable condition and is still receiving treatment.

A urine test revealed that the suspect was positive for drugs, and the police seized the machete used in the attack.

The police are seeking a remand order for the suspect at the Alor Gajah Court on Friday. The case is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code.
