Thank you for being an angel.

It’s been raining cats and dogs in Malaysia, causing flash floods in Johor. But one influencer, Han Xiao Aii, is not sitting back and letting the victims suffer alone.

With the worst-hit state being Johor, Han Xiao Aii has taken it upon herself to lead the rescue efforts.

In a series of Facebook posts, she updated her followers that she has arranged rescue boats to enter the affected areas and help those stranded by the floods since March 1.

A joint effort

Xiao Aii also shared that her team of volunteers has been on the ground, distributing food supplies and basic necessities to the victims.

But Xiao Aii isn’t doing it all alone. She has called on the public to contribute what they can, and the response has been overwhelming. Donations of water, milk, biscuits, towels and even Panadol have been pouring in.

And the influencer has been working tirelessly to make sure that all the donations reach the people who need them the most.

Obstacles ahead

Xiao Aii’s rescue efforts have been commendable, but the conditions on the ground have been challenging. Despite her team’s best efforts, they have not been able to reach all the affected areas. In particular, the currents have been too strong, and the darkness has made it difficult to navigate.

The boats that Xiao Aii had arranged for rescue work were stationed in Yong Peng. However, due to the strong currents and lack of visibility, they were unable to reach some areas.

“We couldn’t enter some areas as the current was too strong, and it was too dark,” shared Xiao Aii in one of her Facebook posts.

This isn’t the first time Xiao Aii has stepped up to help during the flood season, and netizens praise her for her selflessness and dedication.

However, the work is far from over, and many people in Johor urgently need food supplies and warm clothes.

But one thing’s for sure – with people like Xiao Aii in our midst, we can always count on kindness and compassion to shine through, even in the darkest of times. Stay strong, Johor!
