A local influencer recently stirred up a wave of shock among netizens after she posted a video of her allegedly spending a whopping RM17,000 for a meal at a restaurant in KL.
However, she later revealed that there was more to the story and chided netizens for jumping into conclusions.
M’sian influencer allegedly spends RM17K on meal
The controversy was first brought to light when Liana Rosli, popularly known as Kak KM among her followers, posted a TikTok video of her having a meal with her family.
In the clip, it began with her showing the bill amount, which came up to a shocking figure of RM17,764.65.
Upon seeing the bill, Kak KM turned towards her family members and told them to make sure the meal was worth the bill by eating lots of food and ensuring none of it goes to waste.
She also jokingly told them that they weren’t allowed to ‘berak’ (poop) for the next one week, eliciting peals of laughter in response.
Although it’s not known which restaurant Kak KM dined at, it’s believed to be located at the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, according to the location tag.
In the comment section, netizens were dumbfounded by the bill and wondered what Kak KM had ordered in order to rack up such an astronomical amount.
‘What did they eat for RM17k?’
‘RM17k is enough to hold a feast for a wedding.’
‘The bill wasn’t mine’
Following the online hoo-ha, Kak KM came out publicly to clear the air regarding the public reaction surrounding the clip.
Speaking to Gempak, she revealed that the RM17k bill wasn’t hers to begin with as it belonged to another customer.
It wasn’t mine. I was also shocked when I saw the bill and later discovered that the bill was sent wrongly to me.
“It actually belonged to a table next to mine and my actual bill was only RM2,000,” she explained.
Kak KM also slammed netizens for jumping into conclusions without knowing the full story, adding that it would be “insane” for her to have a meal which costs RM17,000.
