A food delivery pickup allegedly turned heated after a rider claimed that a convenience store staff member splashed hot oden soup on him during a dispute over an order.
The incident was said to have taken place at a convenience store in Kota Damansara and has since gone viral after the rider posted a video of what happened on TikTok.
Rider said he only asked about the order
In the video, which was originally posted by the rider himself @manteps on TikTok, he first showed his food delivery app, which displayed the pickup details for an order at the convenience store.

He then claimed that the incident started after he asked about the order.
According to the rider, the staff member allegedly responded angrily and told him to wait as she was busy.
Because of one order, I just asked, and then she got angry. She said, ‘Can you wait for a while? I’m busy. What is your problem?’” he said in the video.
The rider also claimed that he had asked about the order politely before the situation escalated.
Staff allegedly splashed hot oden soup on him
In the next part of the video, a female staff member behind the counter could be heard raising her voice and saying: “Eh, what are you doing?”
Moments later, the video appeared to show the staff member throwing what the rider claimed was oden curry soup towards him.

The rider then panned the camera to his pants, where visible stains and splashes could be seen.

The video later showed the staff member from outside the glass door, while the rider continued to express his frustration over the incident.
Calls for both sides to explain
The clip has since gone viral on Threads, where many netizens criticised the act of splashing hot soup on someone, regardless of what may have happened before the recording.

Some pointed out that even if the rider had allegedly provoked the staff member, responding physically was still not acceptable.
One commenter wrote that whether there was provocation or not, the staff member’s action had already become physical and was still wrong.
Another said the rider should lodge a police report, while others urged both sides to explain what actually happened before people jumped to conclusions.
A Threads user claiming to be related to the rider also commented that the rider was her brother and denied claims of sexual harassment, while asking the staff member to come forward before further action was taken.
While many netizens agreed that the act of splashing hot soup was dangerous and wrong, some also said the full story should be heard from both parties.
At the time of writing, the convenience store involved has yet to publicly respond to the incident.
