Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC) famous and oft-remembered motto is ‘Finger-Licking Good’, thanks to the many years of the company branding itself as the pioneer of serving up crispy and delicious fried chicken.
Unfortunately for this customer, he got more than what he asked for and it’s safe to say it wasn’t a pleasant sight.
M’sian finds fly eggs inside KFC chicken
Taking to the Malaysian subreddit (r/Malaysia) to share the disgusting discovery, the OP wrote that he had bought a Snack Plate meal from KFC’s Petronas Alam Damai outlet on Wednesday (Oct 4).
While eating the chicken halfway, he found that there was a cluster of fly eggs sitting on top of the chicken meat.
I ordered takeaway from KFC Petronas Alam Damai and discovered FLY EGGS inside the chicken halfway eating! Extremely disgusting, KFC need to fix this, FAST. This is food SAFETY and it’s totally unacceptable!
“I filed a complaint to KFC but there’s is no response YET,” added the clearly distressed OP.
‘Report to MOH!’
In the comment section, netizens were disgusted by the revolting photos and urged the OP to file a complaint with the Ministry of Health (MOH) instead of KFC for a swifter action.
One netizen wrote how she became a victim of food poisoning after having a meal at KFC, which proved to be ironic as she opted for KFC over street food in order to prevent food poisoning.
Another attempted to lighten the mood, jokingly commenting that the OP had probably “discovered one of the 11 secret herbs and spices”.
The OP later posted an update about the incident, writing that KFC had contacted him and gave an apology. They also requested to go to his house to retrieve the contaminated chicken for further investigation.
He also thanked those who had provided the link for him to file a report with MOH in the comments.
