On the way from JB to Kuantan
Preliminary investigations found that the accident is believed to have occurred when the victim’s family, travelling in a Perodua Myvi car, was on their way from Johor Bahru towards Kuantan.
“When they arrived at the scene of the incident, it is believed that the car lost control and veered into the opposite lane before colliding with the oil tanker truck coming from Kuantan towards Johor Bahru,” he said.
However, the location of the incident was a straight and flat road, and the weather was good with a dry road surface.
Mohd Azahari said that the victims’ bodies were sent to Hospital Rompin for post-mortem examination.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he explained.
