“We went to the hospital on March 3, but were not allowed to see the body and were told that the autopsy had been carried out. We went back the next day.-

“However, we were asked to sign a letter first before being allowed to see the body. After seeing it, we did not recognize his face because of the autopsy marks and his head was already bald,” he said.

Upon seeing the body, the family found that the face looked different due to the autopsy marks, and his hair had been shaved.

Spent money on burial arrangement

The body was taken home for burial arrangements.

However, just a few hours before the burial, the prison contacted the family again, saying their son was still alive and making a video call.

It is understood that the family from Taman Desa Permai here almost burned the body before being contacted by the prison authorities at 10 am today, informing them that their son was still alive and in custody.

The family was left in shock, confused about what was happening, and still unsure about why their son was detained in prison on 28 February, according to Harian Metro.

The incident has caused distress to the family, who spent approximately RM20,000 to prepare for the burial, including booking a tent, food, and cremation costs.

“The child was arrested by the police, then confirmed dead, and then came back to life. This incident has confused us. We even spent about RM20,000 to book a tent, food, and cremation costs. Why can something as important as this happen?” he said.

The detainee’s mother, Parameiswary, 48, said she had filed a police report in Jinjang about the incident and wanted the authorities to meet with the family to explain the matter clearly.
