M’sian family has Hilux stolen 5 hours after arriving

In a lengthy Facebook post by a woman named Weiwei Lee, she wrote that her family had travelled from Pahang and stayed at an Airbnb located opposite the IOI Mall in Puchong on Monday (July 10).

Upon arriving at the Airbnb between 12am and 1am, Lee registered herself and showed her driver’s license to the security team in order to get the access card. At 1.33am, she went to the car to retrieve a bag that she had left inside the Hilux and went back to the Airbnb to rest.

At 7am, Lee’s husband received a call from Toyota, where they asked him whether the Hilux was still with him. They also informed him that they noticed the car battery had been tampered with.

When Lee and her husband rushed downstairs to check on their Hilux, they were shocked to see that it was no longer at the parking lot.

Claimed security team was unhelpful

Distraught by the incident, Lee said she filed a police report and asked for the CCTV footage from the security team. However, she claimed that they refused to cooperate and dragged their feet on the matter.

To make matters worse, she was informed that the CCTVs at the parking lot and main entrance/exit were not functioning.

Towards the end of the post, Lee said that she found it hard to believe that she had to register herself with security but thieves could easily enter and leave the premises freely.

In a brief conversation with WeirdKaya, Lee said the Hilux has yet to be found and urged others to not place their entire trust on security personnel as such incidents can still happen.

We hope Lee is able to locate her car soon and police to arrest the thief!
