A 2014 resignation letter that recently resurfaced online after being shared by Facebook page Senangcite is drawing attention for its blunt and unfiltered tone.
The letter, titled “RESIGNATION LETTER” and addressed to “Dear Puan Farizah,” shows the writer resigning on the spot and listing several complaints about their manager.
“Resignation effective immediately”
In the letter, the writer stated: “I am writing to inform you of my resignation effective immediately.”
They then went on to explain their frustration, writing:
The two years I have spent working for you have been a colossal waste of my time and I see no reason to continue.”
Writer lists grievances in numbered points
Unlike typical resignation letters that are brief and polite, this one included a numbered list of complaints.
The first point accused the manager of overlooking their efforts, writing: “You never appreciated my work and keep looking over my faults.”
The writer also criticised the manager’s leadership style, claiming: “You are not a good leader for me. You giving instruction by shouting at your staff.”
Claims of blame and ignoring staff opinions
The third point alleged that staff were often blamed and their input dismissed, stating: “You never accept staff opinion and put all the blames on your staff.”
One line in particular caught netizens’ attention due to how direct it was: “You are a good actress in front of big bosses.”
Allegation of unprofessionalism
In the final point, the writer accused the manager of being unprofessional, stating:
You are not being professional as a store manager by threatening other staff about not giving a leave and bring it up old job matters when there is new problem appeared.”
The letter ended with “Thank you for your cooperation” followed by “Sincere,” and a signature.
