A female e-hailing driver was left bruised following a surprise attack by a group of teens who didn’t have the cash to pay for their ride in Melaka.
Thankfully, police were able to arrest all four of the teens and remanded them until today, reported Sinar Harian.
Strangled and assaulted by teens
According to Alor Gajah police chief Ahmad Abu Bakar, he said the teens comprised of two boys aged 15 and 17, and two girls aged 14, with only one of them currently in school.

He said the victim had picked up the teens in the Bukit Rambai area around 12.30am on May 14, and was going to drop them off at Pekan Kuala Sungai Baru.
When the car reached a forest area in Kuala Sungai Baru, one of the teens asked the victim to stop driving as they were looking for someone and that they did not have money to pay for the trip.
Minutes later, three of the teens suddenly turned on the victim and began hitting her with a hard object and strangling her from behind.
They also allegedly threatened the victim and warned her not to seek help.

Police report
After the teens alighted, the victim drove herself to the police station and lodged a police report regarding the assault.
In the report, she claimed one of the girls hit her with a metal rod while the other pulled her hair. As for the boys, one of them strangled her while the other ran away.
The victim suffered bruises on her body and strangulation marks on her neck due to the attack.
All of the teens were later arrested on the same day and the case is being probed under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
