Traffic lights are made to signal to drivers when they’re allowed to drive and when they should stop. Unfortunately, there are some drivers who turn a blind eye to it.
One driver had the audacity to not only disregard the traffic rules, but also blame a traffic warden he rammed into after beating the red light.
M’sian driver hits traffic warden after beating red light
The incident was brought to light by a netizen named Arma Syazmani, who uploaded a video to show how it unfolded.
In the clip, it showed a Perodua Viva driving over a speedbump at a school area when the traffic light was clearly red.
Halfway into the clip, the Perodua Viva is seen barreling its way into a traffic warden who was guiding a female student in crossing the road, causing him to collapse to the ground.
After the collision, the traffic warden is seen groveling on the road in visible pain before the video arubtly ends.
A photo included in the post showed the injuries that the traffic warden suffered, where his left arm was wrapped up in a sling.
Driver allegedly blamed traffic warden for accident
In the caption, Arma claimed that the driver didn’t bother to get out of the car after knocking down the traffic warden and only rolled down the window when confronted by several parents.
He then had the nerve to say it was the warden’s fault for standing in the middle of the road. Uncle Osman (the warden) was holding a red flag and wearing a safety vest. What more can he do? Wear a Hulk costume for people to notice him?
“Plus, the traffic light was already red. What kind of poor vision do you have to not notice it? Does he think the guard was standing there dancing or what?” she wrote.
Arma then urged parents to tell their kids to be more careful when crossing the road if there wasn’t someone else to replace the injured traffic warden.
