🥹
Last week, as Malaysians across the country immersed themselves in the festive spirit of Raya, one family’s journey took an unexpected twist, leaving them with a tale that quickly went viral on social media platforms.

The week-long celebration, spanning from Monday to Sunday, saw many individuals and families reconnecting with their roots by visiting their parents’ hometowns. However, for some, the festivities were punctuated by the demands of urban life, necessitating a return to the cities over the weekend in preparation for the workweek ahead.

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Farisa’s father managed to maintain his composure, though undoubtedly feeling a mix of shock and disappointment at being left behind by his family.

How it actually happened

In an interview with WeirdKaya, Farisa recounted the events leading up to her dad’s unintended pit stop:

“We were driving from Perak to Johor Bahru, our hometown with two cars and stopped for a break at Tapah R&R. When we were ready to leave, we waited for another car. My dad wanted to buy water but didn’t tell anyone because everyone was asleep.

“When the other car arrived, we started moving without checking the passengers, and my dad was left behind. We only realised he was missing when we reached Bidor, Perak. We turned back in traffic and picked him up, taking almost an hour in total.”

After the incident, Farisa also said her family got scolded by her dad. He understandably felt forgotten in the confusion of departure, especially in the hot weather.

Reactions from netizens

As the video circulated online, viewers shared their own interpretations and reactions to the situation. Some responded with humour, joking about the consequences of being left behind, while others expressed sympathy for Farisa’s dad, understanding how it feels to be forgotten accidentally.

One joked: “Automatically blacklisted from the will.”
