M’sian Couple Who Went Viral For Performing ‘Wheelie’ Stunt In Kelantan Surrender To Police

They were aged 16 and 17 years old respectively.
On Wednesday (Apr 26), a young Malay couple in Kelantan achieved online infamy after a clip of them performing a ‘wheelie’ stunt while clad in baju Melayu went viral on social media.

It soon caught the attention of police, who have since appealed to the couple to turn themselves in, who disappeared from the radar after the incident.

Just yesterday (Apr 27), the Kota Bharu District Police announced in a statement that the couple were arrested by the 42nd Unit of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division after they surrendered to police at the Kota Bharu District Police headquarters.

According to the statement, the suspects were 17-year-old Fakhrul Idham bin Fakarudin and 16-year-old Fahimah bt Ibrahim, who are a married couple.

Both of them hid from authorities for two days after the clip went viral and are now being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

Under the Act, the couple faces a jail term of up to five years and a fine between RM5,000 and RM15,000 if found guilty.

Let’s hope this will teach them a lesson not to engage in such dangerous acts anymore!
