.This decision wasn’t just about profit margins but stemmed from their desire to contribute positively to their community.

Set up behind the lively night market, Nordin and Halimatol started their stall to offer yummy and cheap food to the B40 community, reported Sinar Harian. Since they began last August, they’ve become known for their kindness, attracting customers with both their tasty satay and their fair prices.

But why RM0.50?

Their commitment to keeping prices low came from a deeply touching incident that occurred at their stall.

A couple, seemingly struggling financially, stopped by their stall late one night to buy satay for their six children. However, upon hearing the price of RM1 per stick, they sadly decided they couldn’t afford it and left.

Touched by this encounter, Nordin and Halimatol Saadiah made a pivotal decision—to lower the price of their chicken satay to just 50 cents per stick.

“One night, a couple on a motorcycle stopped by our stall to buy satay for their six children. After hearing the price of RM1 per stick, they decided they couldn’t afford it and left. This really touched me, so I decided to lower the price to just 50 cents per stick.”

When the couple came back to the stall, they were thrilled to see the satay priced at half of what they thought.

This made Nordin and Halimatol Saadiah even more convinced about the strength of being sincere and generous.

“I believe that if you sincerely help, blessings will come. Thank God, our three children also support this effort,” he added.

Nordin also shared that their stall has since become a hub of goodwill, with daily sales ranging from 400 to 600 sticks of satay. Moreover, they receive numerous orders from supportive customers who appreciate not only the affordability of their product but also the values they stand for.

“The stall opens at 6 pm every day except Monday and Tuesday. Usually, we close at midnight, but sometimes the satay sells out early, and we close at 8:30 pm,” he concluded.
