A pedestrian in Singapore has died after he was knocked down by a vehicle bearing a Malaysian number plate on Tuesday (Mar 21).
A video of the incident later found its way to social media, where it was posted by SG Road Vigilante – SGRV on Facebook a day after the accident.
M’sian-registered car knocks man down
In the 1-minute clip, it showed the white Toyota Vellfire making a right turn at a junction into Jurong West Street 65.
As the car drives on, a man is seen walking across the road from the left side, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the multi-purpose vehicle was heading his way.
Needless to say, the car knocked the man down, which sent him flying to the kerb and writhing in pain.
After the collision, the driver gets out of the vehicle to check on the man.

Dies 2 days after accident
The Straits Times reported that the 47-year-old man was still conscious when he was rushed to the National University Hospital for treatment.
Unfortunately, police said he later succumbed to his injuries yesterday (Mar 23).
The 41-year-old driver of the Toyota Vellfire is also reportedly aiding police in their investigation of the matter.
Pedestrian to be blamed?
In the comment section of the video, many criticised the man for jaywalking and said that he had it coming by failing to be alert of his surroundings.
However, a netizen who claimed to the victim’s niece, said her uncle suffered from partial blindness and relied on the number of steps to get to work. However, on the day of the accident, he was forced to take an unfamiliar route due to work construction.
