M’sian Boy Teases Friend Over Argentina’s World Cup Final Loss, Gets Scissors Thrown At Him

Even kids aren't spared from the rivalry.
Although the World Cup 2026 is done and dusted, tensions between Spanish and Argentinian fans are still very much simmering beneath the surface.

While these tensions are often limited to adults alone, it seems that even young kids are finding themselves embroiled in the rivalry.

Hurt by scissors

According to mStar, a woman recently shared how her son got injured by a pair of scissors by a friend at school.

She said the incident began after the two boys exchanged insults, which escalated into a verbal argument and eventually a physical altercation.

“I got a call from a teacher who informed me that my son’s friend threw a pencil case at him. There was a pair of scissors inside and it hit my son’s stomach, causing him to bleed.

“I asked if it was serious, but the school said my son didn’t need to be taken to a clinic as his wound was treated at school,” she said.

Taunted friend over Argentina’s loss

The woman later revealed the fight stemmed from her son’s teasing of his friend over Argentina’s loss to Spain in the World Cup final.

His friend supports Argentina, while my son supports Spain. So you can guess who started the teasing.

“Even though my son was the one who got hurt, he was also at fault because he started it,” she said, adding that her husband will discipline their child for his behaviour.

She also apologised to the school and expressed hope that the matter could be resolved amicably.
