M’sian Billed RM18.50 For Meal Of Fried Chicken, Vege, & Half Portion Of Rice

Expensive.

With the cost of living increasing with each passing day, Malaysians are feeling the pinch on their wallets and finding it difficult to afford meals within their budget.

A local man was left reeling after a popular restaurant in the capital city ravaged his wallet by charging him an exorbitant price for a fairly simple meal.

‘RM18.50 for this?’

In a Threads post, the OP showed what he had ordered at the restaurant and the receipt issued to him.

In the caption, he wrote that he had ordered half a portion of rice, a piece of fried chicken, luffa (sayur petola), and an unsweetened barley drink.

To his shock, he was charged RM18.50 for the food, while the drink cost him RM3.90, leading him to wonder whether he had been fleeced by the restaurant.

Bad reviews

It later turned out that the restaurant in question has had a long history of billing customers unbelievably high prices, causing many to “blacklist” the business.

One netizen who dined at the restaurant two years ago claimed it served mediocre food that didn’t justify the pricing.

Another netizen advised the OP to always request for the final receipt from the cashier as there had been instances where customers were allegedly charged based on the restaurant’s fancies and whims.
