After 25 long years of operations at Mid Valley Megamall, MPH Bookstores has finally decided to call it a day, much to the sadness of Malaysians.
This was confirmed by the bookstore chain in a statement, where it wrote it was time to “bid a fond farewell to Mid Valley Megamall” and “cast its gaze to the future”.
MPH Bookstores closes Mid Valley outlet after 25 years
According to the statement, the Mid Valley Megamall outlet first opened its doors in 1999, where it marked “a pivotal point in MPH history that shaped the way it approached bookselling”.
At the height of its operations, MPH’s Mid Valley Megamall outlet had several facilities such as  self-search terminals, internet kiosks, a reading lounge, a children’s corner, and a full-fledged customer service counter.
It also carried the largest collection of Children’s books in the Klang Valley, perhaps the entire country as well.
Thank you for all the support you have given to MPH Mid Valley Megamall in the past 25 years. We really couldn’t have done it without you. We also thank the management of Mid Valley Megamall for being a gracious landlord for a quarter of a century.
“MPH has many plans in the works, and we will unveil them in due time. Stay up to date by following our social media channels,” the statement read.
Clearance sale till end of January
MPH Bookstores announced that its last day of operations will be on Jan 31 and it will be holding a clearance sale of up to 90% from Jan 22 to Jan 31.
It also revealed that it would be moving to a new location at The Exchange TRX, where it’s scheduled to be opened sometime this year.
