While owning a luxury car is a dream everyone wishes to fulfil during their lifetime, it requires a level of financial capability as the instalment can be costly.
A car salesman recently shared his shock over a message he received from a customer who confidently expressed his desire to own a Mercedes-Benz C200 when his meagre salary wasn’t enough to finance it.
‘Did you mean RM2,000?’
In a Threads post by the salesman named Zaki, he shared a screenshot of a conversation he had with the customer.
Based on the conversation, the customer asked him whether his RM2,000 salary was enough to buy a car, prompting Zaki to ask which model he was looking at.

When the customer said it was the Mercedes-Benz C200, Zaki was so stunned that he had to confirm with the customer that his salary was RM2,000 a month and not in any other currency.
In response, the customer replied with a confident “Yes, boss.”
The reply caused Zaki to wonder what possessed the customer to believe he could own a luxury car with his RM2,000 salary, adding that it wasn’t his first time coming across such customers.

He also pointed out that insurance alone would cost between RM8,000 and RM10,000.
Dreaming big or being unrealistic?
In the comment section, some netizens pointed out that the customer was living in an alternative reality as it isn’t possible for one to own a Perodua Bezza or Axia with a RM2,000 salary, let alone a luxury car.

Another said the customer was making a huge mistake if he were to insist on purchasing the Mercedes-Benz C200 with his current pay.

Meanwhile, one netizen speculated that the customer’s family was acting as his sponsor, which allowed him to make such a bold request.
