Man Spotted Behaving Like “Zombie” On MRT, Netizens Suspect It Was Allegedly Due To “Piu Piu Vape”

Concerning.
A video of a man appearing to be in a semi-conscious state while riding the MRT has recently gone viral on Threads, raising concerns among Malaysians over the alleged misuse of “piu piu vape” and public safety on public transport.

In the short clip, the man was seen standing near a pole inside the train while leaning forward in an unusual manner.

He appeared to be barely conscious, with what looked like saliva or possibly vomit dripping from his mouth.

“The future of our country is doomed”

Speaking to WeirdKaya, @mcdontoliver said the incident allegedly happened two nights ago on the MRT Kajang-Kwasa Damansara route.

According to @mcdontoliver, he initially did not notice anything unusual when he first entered the train, as the man appeared to be simply standing by the pole.

At first, when I entered the train, I didn’t notice that he was like that. I honestly thought he was just standing normally by the pole,” he said.

He then took a seat and used his phone for a while before noticing that the man seemed to be swaying while standing, as though he had little strength.

At the same time, his eyes were closed, and saliva was dripping from his mouth. Only then did I realise that his saliva was already scattered on the floor,” @mcdontoliver added.

@mcdontoliver also claimed that by then, almost half of the coaches had already been turning their attention to the man.

The man eventually got off the train after several stations, but still did not appear to be fully conscious at the time.

Netizens suspect “piu piu vape”

The clip quickly caught the attention of netizens, with many expressing concern over the man’s condition and questioning what had happened to him.

Some described the scene as resembling a “Train to Busan” moment, comparing the man’s behaviour to a zombie-like state.

In the comment section, several netizens speculated that the man’s condition may have been linked to “piu piu vape” (also known as “piao piao”), a term commonly used online to refer to vape products allegedly associated with drug abuse.

One commenter wrote that if people already knew the vape was dangerous, they should not be using it in the first place.

Another urged the authorities to be more alert about alleged “piu piu vape” cases, questioning why there was no immediate action despite growing concerns.

However, it should be noted that the exact cause of the man’s condition has not been confirmed, and there has been no official statement linking the incident to vape or any substance use.

Public safety concerns raised

Aside from the allegation, the video also sparked concern over public safety on trains.

Several netizens pointed out that if a passenger is visibly unwell, semi-conscious, or behaving abnormally in a crowded public space, they feel unsafe on public transport.

The incident has since led to wider discussion about substance abuse among youths, as well as whether more monitoring is needed in public transport areas.
