In every romantic relationship, both parties are expected to share the burden between themselves, be it on the emotional or financial front.
A woman is now questioning the state of her relationship with her boyfriend after she observed that he had zero motivation and direction in life, putting her plans for marriage in serious doubt.
Red flags
According to mStar, the woman shared on social media that she and her boyfriend have been dating for three years.
However, she came to discover some alarming traits about her 35-year-old boyfriend, which has left her feeling very uneasy.
“He never stays at a job for long. After about three months, he’ll quit claiming the job is too stressful. He drives an old car that’s full of dents and holes, and even that was given to him by a relative.
“He still lives with his family and whenever we go out to eat with them, he’ll often act dumb and have his mother foot the bill,” she wrote.
The woman also said her boyfriend has no motivation to provide a better life for himself and her.
I’ve known him for a long time, but he has no savings to this day as he’ll throw in the towel every time someone scolds him at work.”
Sliver of hope?
The woman then went on to say that the only positive qualities about her boyfriend were his loyalty to her and him treating her well throughout their relationship.
Despite that, it hasn’t quelled her fears of how life would turn out if they were to get married.
“He doesn’t have money to buy an engagement ring and his mother paid for his pre-marital course too.
“I’m getting more fed up with his habit of just sitting around playing video games. Thankfully, we’re not married yet.”
Netizens were against the idea of the woman marrying her boyfriend, with many saying it was best for her to leave him as soon as possible.
One netizen also shared how they got into a similar situation, with the marriage ultimately ending in divorce and regret.
